Layover Life | Rome in a Day

Hi beautiful people! 

I was quite happy to swap a Milan flight for a great timing Rome mainly because the flights time was perfect to get into town nice and early to beat all the crowds which is something I always try to do if I can. 

Originally 4-5 of us were gonna meet down in the lobby at 0630 to take an Uber into the city but as usual only 2 of us ended up going haha. 

We go an Uber which cost 40-50 euros and got him to drop us off at the Trevi Fountain first since that site tends to get crowded quite quickly. 

The weather that early in the morning was a bit chilly so I was wearing two layers of sweaters but as the sun came out it warmed up so it was perfect crisp fall weather to go walking around and Rome is a beautiful city and very walkable. 

After we both took enough photos we headed on foot to the Colosseum. By the time we got there it was pretty crowded already and it wasn’t even 0900! We walked around outside a bit but then spotted a really good spot up a hill to take photos so we went up there

Since we ticked both places off fairly early we looked for something else to do, first on the agenda was coffee. We were both pretty tired from jet lag and waking up early so we downed the coffee pretty fast😂 

We were given a map by the hotel of good places to walk and visit and one of them was a flower market! 

Didn’t take much to convince us to head there and on the way we came across a bakery full of amazing delicious pastries and candy 

I got cannolis with Nutella, vanilla creame, pistachio and white chocolate! Omg they were soooooo freaking good🤤I managed to keep myself from eating all the oatmeal cookies as well so I would have something to bring back to Dubai😂

On the way to the market we walked past a family and the two little boys were munching on carrots, I love seeing kids eat fruits and veggies and enjoy it. 

The market was beautiful. So many gorgeous flowers, fresh fruit and veggies! I bought nectarines and peaches and dried figs and stared at all the beautiful pasta options they had to offer. By the time we finished at the market it was close to midday and the shuttle bus back to the hotel was leaving soon so we parted ways and I headed to the Carrefour express to grab a few things for my snack later on after my pre flight nap. 

This was my 3rd flight to Rome so far and I must say it might actually become a regular bid! The flight is lovely, the people are amazing and once you get there you will definitely love the city❤️ not to mention all the amazing food they have for you! Here’s a few more photos from the day 

It was a great layover even if it was only for 24hrs. I can’t wait to go back! #italyiloveyou
